  • I was experimenting with shooting from a "dog's eye" point of view after seeing a dog walk by and wondering what NYC looked like to him. Of all of the shots, this is the only one I liked. I'm still worried that the blown out sky is very distracting.

  • This was the last shot I took when walking around by myself. I couldn't decide if I liked the red glow or not, so I also processed it in B&W.

  • This version is much cleaner. The red glare was very distracting, but I also felt that gave it a certain vibe that worked. I'm not sure if I like the shot now that it's in B&W, but I feel this is much cleaner.

  • I missed the focus I was aiming for doing the quick-shot. I wanted to get the bicyclist in the foreground. It ended up focusing on the "two way traffic ahead" sign, but after you pointed out this shot without knowing what my goal was I came around to liking the "street feel" of it.

  • I just really liked the light in this shot. I cropped out the blown out sky and most of the building to the right. You can still see a bit of the blow out in the upper left corner. Not sure if that is overly distracting or not, but also not sure how to fix it.

  • I loved her expression. Again, this a fairly large crop. I liked the 1x1 composition for it. There were a LOT of colors going on in the frame, so I felt the B&W kept things from going crazy.

  • Reflective-reflection. I wish I had caught his eyes, but after working on the image for a while, I liked the reflection of him while he looks like he's deep in thought (or concerned, but I stuck with "in thought" because it worked for my title).

  • I did catch this guy's eyes, but it's really hard to tell. I've lightened them, but it's not really coming through. When I brought up the shadows it looked over processed and fake, putting them back, I lost his eyes.

  • I love this shot, I just wish I had actually, you know, focused on the figure. Websized, not so bad. At print size, I don't think the shot works.

  • One of my favorite shots from the day. I think I nailed this one pretty well. I'm all around happy with this one and will probably print it at some point.

  • My favorite shot of the day. (Thanks for taking me across the bridge!) In the original the sky was very flat and I wasn't all that impressed with it. When I did the B&W conversion I was able to pull out some texture in the sky and tone down the brightness of the bridge. I had to muddle the flag a little bit to get that over all look, but I think it was a worthy sacrifice.

  • Final pano. Websized, I'm very happy with this. When viewed large you can see I had some camera shake for one the shots. One building ended up blurry. Pissed me off for days.
